How to Get More Views on TikTok

How to Get More Views on TikTok

Published on 28th of July 2025

If growing your TikTok presence in 2025 is still on your to-do list for the year, it is time to consider using the latest strategies. You cannot post one or two videos a week, sit back, and hope for the best.

TikTok’s algorithm is not the same as it was a year ago. Audience behavior is not what it was six months ago.

For these reasons, you must use growth strategies that appeal to both the algorithm and your target audience.

What Is the ‘Brand Chem’ Era?

The first thing you should do is familiarize yourself with TikTok’s official What’s Next report. The updated report for 2025 introduced Brand Chem.

The Brand Chem movement involves content creators, communities, and brands collaborating to co-create content and earn cultural relevance.

So, what does this mean for your efforts to grow your audience on TikTok?

  • You should actively work on DIY brand collaborations. Even if you just partner with one micro-influencer every few weeks, it can dramatically increase your engagement on TikTok.
  • Consider your audience as collaborators as well. Ask your followers for their opinions on your content and encourage them to create their own content featuring your products or services.

Learn to Work With the Algorithm

TikTok’s algorithm is ever-changing, but one element that remains constant is that the algorithm uses engagement to push content.

So, if you want more views, you must learn to work with the algorithm, not against it. Start by reacting to trending content. It's no longer simply about your own content; it's also about other people’s videos.

Posting passively without ever engaging on the platform will not increase your views, likes, or followers.

Instead, make the most of TikTok’s duet and stitch features to react to content trending on the platform. For instance:

  • Film your response to a trending video using the side-by-side duet format. This type of reaction is great for commentary or humor.
  • You can also clip part of a trending video (stitch) and add your response. The stitch feature is particularly useful for adding insights to an existing video.

Keep in mind that reaction videos are most effective when paired with trending videos. You have to time your reaction so that it coincides with the rapid rise of specific content.

You must also respond to the engagement you get on TikTok, preferably using TikTok’s video reply feature.

When you respond to comments and questions, the algorithm sees it as strong creator-viewer interaction.

Back-and-forth engagement is also the most effective way to build a TikTok community, which in turn boosts your presence on the For You page.

The easiest ways to respond include:

  • Q&A stickers

If you add a Q&A sticker to a TikTok video, your followers can submit questions that you can respond to in video format.

  • Video replies in comments

Take the best comments you get and turn them into follow-up videos. Doing this will allow you to create ‘cascading’ content around a single post.

  • Act fast

You should always aim to respond as quickly as possible after comments start coming in, while the algorithm is evaluating your video.

Find a Posting Rhythm

It is also important to post your videos at the right time, whether you are collaborating or responding to others.

Off-peak posting, usually early morning or late evening, tends to bring better performance in 2025.

Furthermore, the first 60 seconds of a video are crucial. You want to build on this by adding questions or CTAs in the caption.

Also, if you hook your audience within the first three seconds, your followers will be more likely to watch the entire video.

These are all behavioral trends to consider when determining a content posting schedule.

Worry Less About Going Viral

Many content creators and marketers make the mistake of focusing solely on going viral.

Most videos that go viral receive thousands of views and likes within a few hours, after which the flow of engagement subsides.

To increase your views consistently, focus on watch time rather than going viral. TikTok’s algorithm emphasizes watch time and completion rates to a higher extent than likes or follows.

Therefore, if your followers consistently watch your videos to the end, you have a better chance of higher engagement that leads to more exposure on the platform.

Include TikTok SEO in Your Overall Strategy

Every year, there is a rumor that hashtags no longer work on TikTok. Pay this no heed, as TikTok SEO is stronger than ever in 2025.

You should incorporate SEO into the videos you create to maximize their impact and reach.

Avoid using worn-out, clichéd keywords, but opt for keywords that describe your videos perfectly. These keywords should also be relevant to your niche, enabling users to find your content more easily.

In addition to keywords, you should include a maximum of three hashtags in each video. Ideally, you want to combine a broad hashtag with two niche hashtags.

Trending TikTok sounds are great for making an impression on the platform, but only if you use them creatively. Many content creators use the same sounds, so they lose their appeal quickly.

Before jumping on a trend, especially trending sounds, add your own spin or twist to it. If you do it right, your videos will start the next big trend, not just follow existing ones.

Use TikTok’s AI Tools

TikTok’s generative AI tools can go a long way in making an audience sit up and take notice of your content. However, you should never rely solely on AI for content creation.

The best way to incorporate AI into your videos (and get more views) is to use it for brainstorming and subtitle ideas. The content itself should come from you.

TikTok Success Is Never Accidental

Some content creators do find short-lived overnight success on TikTok. But if they want to sustain that success, they must work hard. The same applies to your content.

If you focus on building a community, responding to the engagement you get, and learning as you go along, the algorithm will take notice.
