Accounts assigned a 1,000-view package recorded an average of 654 more For You views on each later video than similar accounts without the package. Those later videos received no purchased engagement, and we checked their views 72 hours after posting.
The study followed 64 accounts and looked beyond the video receiving the boost, giving us an encouraging result for creators thinking about their next few uploads. Here’s how we ran it, what we found and what you can take from it for your own posting plan.
One boost followed by two new videos
Following the videos that came after a boost
The study followed 64 accounts in 32 pairs, with one account in each pair assigned a views package.
- 24 hours beforeOriginal video
The video chosen for the boost is posted.
- Package starts1,000-view package
Fast delivery begins on the original video.
- About 3 days laterNext video 1
Posted without purchased engagement or paid promotion.
- About 8 days laterNext video 2
Posted without purchased engagement or paid promotion.
We checked each later video at the same age and averaged the available results for each account.
- The other account in each pair received no study package, giving us a way to compare the later videos.
- One account had figures for only one later video, and the package’s 30-day refill window covered the original video.
We paired creators, musicians and businesses with similar accounts based on their account type, country and earlier views. One account in each pair was assigned a single 1,000-view package, while the other went without it so we could compare what happened next.
The posting plan worked like this:
- An account published the video chosen for the boost.
- The package started 24 hours later, using fast delivery.
- Two new videos were scheduled for about three and eight days after the package started, with no purchased engagement or paid promotion on either one.
- We checked each new video’s For You views after 72 hours, so the posts were compared at the same age.
More For You views on the follow-up posts
The next videos received more For You views
We checked the average For You views on each later video 72 hours after it was posted.
This was the average difference between the paired accounts, on later videos that received no purchased engagement.
- Accounts without the package averaged 1,445 For You views, compared with 2,098 for those assigned a package, with both bars starting at zero.
- We used the full numbers before rounding to calculate the extra 654 views, so subtracting the two displayed averages gives a slightly different answer.
- For You views count plays, so one person can be counted more than once.
For each of the 32 pairs, we averaged the available results from an account’s later videos and compared that account with its partner. The group averages came out as follows:
| Accounts | Average For You views per later video at 72 hours |
|---|---|
| Without the package | 1,445 |
| Assigned the views package | 2,098 |
The average difference was 654 more For You views per later post. We calculated this from the unrounded values, which is why subtracting the two rounded numbers in the table gives a slightly different answer.
That positive difference gives us a reason to explore how a views boost might fit into a wider posting plan, although it describes the accounts in this study and can’t predict the performance of your next upload.
Did one big result explain the difference?
What happened when we left out the biggest result?
We removed the strongest account and its partner, then checked whether the later videos still showed a positive difference.
- With all 32 pairs, the average difference was +654 For You views per later post, with a 95% confidence interval of 17 to 1,291.
- Without the standout pair, it was +405 views with a range of 6 to 805, so it stayed positive while becoming smaller.
- The dots show the averages we found and the lines show the ranges around them, which leave some uncertainty about the size of the benefit.
One account did especially well and made a large contribution to the average, so we checked the results again after removing that account and its partner. This left out the entire matched pair, keeping the comparison fair.
- With all 32 pairs: the average difference was 654 extra For You views per later post.
- Without the standout pair: the difference fell to 405 extra views, so it stayed positive even though the size of the result changed.
Your own videos can perform above or below an average, so the useful next step is to try a plan you can track and learn from, rather than expect the same number from every post.
How to put the finding to work
If you’re planning a views boost, it helps to have another useful video ready for someone who enjoys the first one. Depending on your account, you could try:
- A performance clip followed by the story behind the song.
- A product demonstration followed by answers to common customer questions.
- A video on a popular topic followed by the next part of a short series.
These are ideas for your own content, rather than formats we compared in the study. Keep a note of what you ordered and check later posts at the same age, because one video’s first three days won’t compare fairly with another video’s full month.

Follow the results that matter to you
For You views can tell you about visibility, while follower growth, music listening and completed orders help you see what happened afterwards. We tracked those results for the same accounts, and the early numbers were encouraging without giving us a clear answer yet.

How we ran the study
- Who took part: 68 accounts joined in August and September 2026. Two business pairs were left out after a withdrawal and promotion that didn’t follow the study rules, leaving 64 accounts from the US, UK, Germany, Canada and Australia.
- How much the estimate could vary: the 654-view difference had a 95% confidence interval of 17 to 1,291 extra views per later post. Without the standout pair, the estimate was 405 with a range of 6 to 805, so the size of the benefit is still uncertain.
- How delivery went: 30 accounts received the full package, one received part of it and one received none. We kept all of them in the comparison.
- Gaps in the records: one account had a missing capture for a later video, and six results used rounded For You percentages. These views count plays, so one person can appear more than once.
- What the package covered: one 1,000-view package at the fast setting, with a 30-day refill window on the original video. The study doesn’t show how TikTok made its recommendations.
- Who funded it: Celebian, which also supplied the views package.
