Does a higher view count change what someone watches, and can a boost make a difference to the videos you post next? Our studies found more clip openings with a higher displayed count and more For You views on later posts after accounts were assigned a views package.
The early numbers for followers, music and sales were also encouraging, although they didn’t give us a clear answer yet. Here you can explore what we tested, see the results and find ideas for your next video.

Does attention turn into action?
The early numbers looked encouraging, although we don’t have a clear answer yet.

Our original TikTok studies
How view counts influence first impressions
In our browsing study of 1,124 adult TikTok viewers, 31.3% opened a clip when it showed 10,000 views, compared with 24.2% when it showed 1,000. That works out to about 29% more openings in the research profile grid, suggesting the number beside a video can play a part in someone’s first impression.
What happened to the next videos after a views boost?
We paired 64 similar accounts and assigned one in each pair a single 1,000-view package. Those accounts recorded an average of 654 more For You views per later post at 72 hours, even though the later videos received no purchased engagement.
When we left out the strongest result and its paired account, the difference fell to 405 extra views per post and stayed positive. The article explains what that can tell you when planning your next few uploads.
Early findings on followers, music and sales
We followed the same accounts for 30 days to look at follower growth, music activity and completed orders. The views-package group did slightly better across the three comparisons, although the small groups and differences between accounts leave us without a clear answer about a reliable benefit.

Explore TikTok trendsPut the research to work on your account
Start with a video you want people to notice, then think about what would make it worth their time:
- Give it a clear subject and a cover that helps someone understand what they’ll see.
- Get to the point in the opening and make the next step easy to follow.
- Keep a record of what you try and compare your posts at the same age.
- Track follows, music activity or completed orders alongside views, depending on your goal.
Our TikTok views packages offer a choice of quantities and delivery speeds for selected videos, while automatic views make ongoing ordering easier for regular uploads. The account study tested a single 1,000-view package with fast delivery, so automatic ordering is a separate service option.
